Can you remember the last time that you have seen a sparrow? I think for most of you it may seem odd to remember. Yes it is becoming very rare to see a home sparrow now days. Home sparrow is one of the oldest companions of human being which evolved with us for a period of time.

In the recent years the numbers of home sparrows are declining fast in an alarming rate both in rural and urban habitats. This clearly indicates the degradation of our environment due to microwave pollution.

“Electromagnetic pollution may be the most significant form of pollution human activity has produced this century, all the more dangerous because it is invisible and insensible.”

It not only affects sparrows. For the last couple decades, countless scientific studies have been warning us of the serious damage being done to our brains and bodies as a consequence of our excessive cell phone habits. The radiation literally fries our neurons, alters our DNA with fractured strand breaks, and causes rising rates of brain cancer, tumors and associated other life threatening diseases.

In order to create awareness to save sparrows and reduce microwave pollution March 20th of every year is celebrated as World Sparrow Day.

We may support sparrows by providing nest, food or by just adapting green life reducing our cell phone usage and microwave pollution. Happy Sparrow Day.
