Javur Jagadeeshappa Shobha or J.J. Shobha, as she is also known as, is a female athlete from an interior village of Karnataka called Pashupathihaal near Dharwad. Currently, she lives in Secunderabad in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. She was born on 14 January 1978 in Pashupathihaal, Dharwad, Karnataka, India. J. J. Shobha, who is a professional athlete, participated and won the heptathlon, the inaugural Afro Asian games in 2003. She has a National World Record which is yet to be broken by any other athlete. She attained a personal best of 6211 points in 2004 Olympic Games. And the point still remains unbroken. Her achievement in 2004 Olympic Games in Athens remains unbeaten, where, despite being injured at the penultimate round of the javelin throw, she competed in seven discipline heptathlon event with success. Though she had to leave the playing arena due to injury, but she came back with her left ankle tightly strapped and finished at 3rd position in the final round (800m) and in 11th position overall with 6172 points. In the year 2004, the Government of India awarded here with Arjuna Award for her brave performance at the Olympic Events.
