Kamala Das-Short Biography:- 

Kamala Surayya / Suraiyya popularly called as Kamala Madhavikutty with her pen name Madhavikutty. She was born in Punnayurkulam, Thrissur District in Kerala, on March 31, 1934. She is the daughter of V. M. Nair, a former managing editor of Malayalam daily Mathrubhumi, and Nalappatt Balamani Amma, a renowned Malayali poetess.  Her uncle Nalappatt Narayana Menon is a prominent writer and she got inspired by him a lot and thus she got into the world of literature. 

Kamala Das is a well known Indian writer who excels in English and Malayalam.  She is one of the outstanding Indian poets writing in English and many of her works in Malayalam came under her pen name Madhavikkutty. 

Her Marriage Life:- 

Kamala das got married to Mr.Madhava Das, a bank officer. He is a very good person and he encouraged her to write. So, she wrote much and more poems, literatures etc...  She was died at the age of 75 on may 31st 2009 in Pune. She was buried at the Palayam Juma Masjid in Thiruvananthapuram.
