The National Doctors Day is celebrated in India on July 1st of every year to create awareness about the importance of doctors and their role in society it also stresses doctors to follow high professional ethics to serve the society.
History:
The National Doctors Day is is celebrated in the memory of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy in order to pay honor to the entire medical profession. Doctor’s Day in India was established by the Government of India in 1991.
Bidhan Chandra Roy, MRCP, FRCS was the second Chief Minister of West Bengal in India. He remained in his post for 14 years as an Indian National Congress candidate, from 1948 until his death in 1962. He was a highly respected physician and a renowned freedom fighter. Bidhan Roy is often considered the great architect of West Bengal.
Current Scenario:
Today's health care vertical is mostly controlled by corporate industries and it's too hard for a normal middle class and low income people to get good health care. The whole government health care set up is eroded with corruption and what is the remedy for it.
The health care should be fully taken into the control of government with a separate Investigation department to control and audit healthcare strictly. Government should increase the funds for healthcare in budget to benefit the needy
Doctors should serve the society with high human values. Because most of the people see doctor as a reflection of god in India. We trust you to our life.
