The role of clinical research managers (CRM) is rapidly expanding. The career field is particularly suited for nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals. Health care professionals from fields outside of nursing may complete the curriculum to obtain the MS in CRM, with completion of stated prerequisites. The CRM specialty takes a trans-disciplinary approach in providing an education strong in commercial and fiscal practices of conducting clinical research, ethical and regulatory aspects of research, and overall management of clinical drug, biological, and medical device trials. This program is unique in that it integrates principles of innovation and entrepreneurship for adoption into clinical research.
The program is designed to be flexible and conducive to the adult learner; part-time study is available. This 33-semester-hour program is offered online with an optional two-day orientation program. A six semester-hour capstone clinical research project is required.
