The Children's Charities Association (CCA) began as an unstructured group of charities benefiting children. The charities got together to organize joint fund-raising projects in the 1960s.The success of the first Christmas Fair organized in 1965 at the Victoria Memorial Hall drove home the need for a formal organization. In 1966, the Association was inaugurated through the untiring efforts of the late Mr Francis Thomas who became the founding Chairman. It was subsequently registered by the Registrar of Societies and granted the status of an Institution of Public Character in 1972.
