Glenn Marcus Murcutt is a British-born Australian architect and winner of the 1992 Alvar Aalto Medal, the 2002 Pritzker Architecture Prize and the 2009 AIA Gold Medal. He was born on July 25, 1936 in London, United Kingdom. Murcutt studied at the University of New South Wales, graduating in 1961 with a degree in architecture. After completing his university studies, Murcutt traveled for two years, returning to Sydney in 1964 to work in the office of Ancher, Mortlock, Murray and Woolley. Murcutt currently lectures and teaches architectural studies as a professor at the UNSW Faculty of Built Environment.
