Calicut Islamic Residential Higher Secondary School was established in 1980. Now, it is one of the top renowned educational Institution in kozhikode District. The school is unique in many respects. It is one of the few schools in the district with residential facilities for both boys and girls. It has the rare distinction of having Malayalam medium divisions along with English medium divisions in all the classes from V to X.The school governed by the Calicut Islamic Cultural Society (C.I.C.S.), Kolathara, Kozhikode. The CICS runs 13 other institutions including the "Calicut Orphanage" The society has deep- rooted tradition in social, cultural and educational spheres. The uplift and rehabilitation of the destitutes and the deprived children is the motto of the society.The school management is well aware of the sentiments of Muslim parents, in general, who want their children to be trained in the Islamic way of life, especially in the fast changing period of "globalization". So in additional to maintaining a very spacious and hygienic mosque with modern amenities inside the campus, specially arranged classes are given students on the principles and practices of Islam.
