About Institution

The D.A.V. Society was founded in 1885 by the disciples of Maharishi Dayanand Sarsawti. The chief aim was to propagate, the fundamental of Arya Samaj and to eradicate ignorance and social evils by educating the general masses through Ancient-Vedic Moral and spiritual value. Keeping these ideas in view, the DAV Trust and Management established its first school at Lahore in 1886.

After independence it was shifted to Ambala City and many more schools and colleges were started. In early 80’s many public school were started and a network of D.A.V. Public School was laid all over the country. Keeping in mind that education lies at the heart of all round development it must extend its reach to the maximum numbers. It is this involvement of DAV society in Universal Reconstruction that has made all the difference. In this network D.A.V. Public School Pundri was started in 1984.

Since its inception the school has made its consistent efforts to rise and step it has already established itself as the premier institution in this area. The school provides the modern scientific education by creating an ambience of sound traditions of Indian cultural.

Vision

With a view to bring about a balanced and harmonious development of the personality of the future citizens of the country and to infuse in them lofty ideals of the vedic culture and a high sense of patriotism, the Arya Samaj decided to set up a network of educational institutions in the memory of its founder star maharishi Dayanand Saraswati. He was a man of firm conviction, unique courage, a revolutionary reformer, a crusader against social evils, a great Vedic scholar & an innovative thinker. In 1885 Dayanand Anglo-Vedic College Trust and Management Society was registered which is enjoying the status of the largest non-government educational organisation. DAV Movement has produced eminent personalities and great celebrities like Lala Lajpat Rai, Bhai Parmanand, Lala Dwarka Dass, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Kapil Dev, Shahrukh Khan, Yuvraj Singh, I.K. Gujral, Dr. Manmohan Singh etc. who are the pride of the nation.

Mission

DAV Public School, Pundri is a link in the chain of 500 Public Schools controlled & monitored by Public School Directorate of DAVCMC, Established in 1985, the school is a shining star in the illustrious galaxy of DAV Institutions managed by the DAV College Managing Committee. The school owes its present stature to the control and direction of the DAV Management, farsightedness concern care and commitment of the L.M.C. of the school, consistent co-operation & contribution of expert & experienced advice of Principal Mrs. Sadhana Bakshi dedication & strenuous efforts of the school-staff, enlightened students, supportive parents, co-operative well wisher and generous philanthropists of Pundri.
