About Institution

Government Degree College for Women, Madanapalle is the only women’s educational institution in the entire Madanapalle Revenue Division in Chittoor District in Andhra Pradesh. This Revenue Division has a uniqueness of its own since it is the biggest in India. The College took its inception in September 1984 with the blessings and untiring efforts of Sri. T.N. Raghunatha Reddy, Local philanthropist and Sri. R. Narayana Reddy, the then M.L.A of Madanapalle constituency at that time. Initially the college started with a minimum strength of 26 students. As years rolled by the college has progressed into a premier institution in these parts with a huge strength of 773 students. This progress has taken place solely due to the efforts of the staff, several distinguished Principals and the elite of this town.

These students coming out of the portals of this institution shall have the abilities to know, learning to do learning to live and learning to be responsible citizens.
