About Institution

Kendriya Vidyalaya, Koraput, established in the year 1979, slowly and steadily mellowed into a pace setting institution in this forlorn, far flung district of Orissa. After the initial hiccups and infantile ailments, the school started taking deep roots in the soil of Koraput. On inception the school was housed in small tin roofed building wherein the school had to bear the brunt of nature’s fury.
K.V.S felt the sheer necessity of having a school building. In laison with C.P.W.D a posh school building was constructed along with eleven school Quarters. The school was inaugurated by none other that the legendary stalwart of Orissa, the late Biju Pattnaik. Dearth of regular staff has been a constant impediment for the school. But because of certain policy decisions of K.V.S, this problem has been solved to a limited extent.
Very many parents, teachers and principal have moulded the destiny of the school with sweat of their brow. This temple of learning slowly started attaining name and fame. To overcome the backwardness endeavours very many have been made by the school authorities.
The specialty of the school is it has a vibrant P.T.A, a core committee of P.T.A and a very effective V.M.C. At times of need they extend their worthy hand of help. The school has a dedicated band of very highly qualified teachers, totally motivated and ever prepared to serve the noble cause of education. With the dynamic monitoring of the Principal, commitment of the teachers, hard work of the motivated children and consolidated help rendered by the parents, the school is soaring to repute and glory clearly establishing her superiority over many other Kendriya Vidyalayas.
The school has miles to go in the path of progress. Extreme financial crunch is a real hurdle in the process of infrastructure development. The C.B.S.E Board results have been excellent. It is made possible because of the unstinted co-operation of the parents, dedicated hard work of both the teachers and the students and the close monitoring of the Principal.
Imparting quality education, bagging coveted positions in various competitions and establishing clear academic superiority, the school is on her march towards prosperity and plenty through the thorny path ahead. It is a salubrious and highly heart warming fact to note that our Hon’ble Commissioner is taking personal interest in the development of the school both in infrastructure and academics.
