About Institution

The college is a part of educational hub situated beside National Highway No-2, having a composite campus spreads on 65 acres of land. The campus is adorned with numerous educational institution including an Engineering College, namely, Durgapur Institute of Advanced Technology and Management, a Management College, namely, Management Institute of Durgapur, a P.G. Science College, namely, Durgapur College of Commerce & Science, an ITI College, namely, Gouri Devi Private Industrial Training Institute, a CBSE School (10+2) namely, Manisha International School, a D.Ed. College, namely, Gouri Devi Teacher’s Training College and a Super Speciality Hospital, namely, Gouri Devi Hospital and Research Institute, Gouri Devi Nursing Academy apart from Law College Durgapur. Altogether, the campus has a total student strength about 5000.

Law College Durgapur has an enriched and responsible alumnus like Professors, Judges, Law Officers, Prosecuting Officers and Legal Managers etc. attached with various Departments/ Institutions / Organizations throughout India.

To start Cyber Law Education considering its immense impact in Society.
To organize regular social awareness programmes as well as visit to academic Institution.
The ardent intention is to develop the teaching faculties with updated inputs and technicalities for modern teaching.
The continuous renovation and innovation in the knowledge field is also the vision of this college which ultimately imbibe the students to take up research work for rendering genuine contribution to the social needs and aspirations of our country.

Mission

Law College Durgapur is a leading Premier Institution under self-financing scheme having its affiliation with the University of Burdwan and now also affiliated to the Kazi Nazrul University w.e.f. 23/06/2015. The Law College Durgapur indeed has been equipped fully to render quality education to make professionals in law, Social Work and train them to become globally ready to step into profession successfully with dignity. The prime mission of this Premier Institution of legal education both 3 years & 5 years and Master of Social Work is to impart updated knowledge to the students, to the future professional who would be capable of meeting variegated demands of this society. The college hence proceeds with new perspective of pedagogy to enrich these students with strong theoretical base of the subject as well as practical know-how for due transmission of professional service to the society.
In the wake of decentralization and liberalization of economy, students required exploration of knowledge of unprecedented units. The sole mission of our Institution is Centres round with this basic object. Our mission is to promote quality education which will empower the students to resist anti-racist and anti-discriminatory practice anywhere in society (as professed in Article 14 of the Constitution of India).
