Mahima Mahavidyalaya, Joranda was the surging need of the rural based economically poor students and parents in the District of Dhenkanal aspiring for Higher Education. The Koupindhari Mahima Samaj, then Srimat Jatia Baba at its head patronised this College which was established on 01.08.1978 at Joranda, famous in and abroad as the cradle of sacred Mahima Dharma. The College got Govt. recognition and Utkal University affiliation in 1979-80. The College was elevated to impart Degree Teaching in the academic session 1986-87.
The College was covered under Grant-in-Aid fold of the Govt. in the year 1984. Situated in a serene and sacred place having natural beauties and bounties, the institution has been building the characters of youth and imparting Higher Education catering to the need of Human Resources.
To build student’s good character and personality who having adequately skilled will spread education in the society and work for the rural community, bringing social development, harmony, peace and prosperity to the Nation.
