It is one of the leading colleges under North Bengal University and since its inception in 1970, it has significantly catered to women's education. It is the only Women's college in and around Malda district and it serves the need of women folk in this vast region. For the last 30 years the college has been growing in many spheres with vibrant departments providing ample scope for higher education. It has got enough reasons to evoke pride.
