Moradabad Institute of Technology (MIT) was established in 1996 by Moradabad Educational Trust (MET) with three B.Tech. Programmes having annual intake of 160 students. Now, the institute runs Seven B.Tech. Programmes, M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering and Electronics & Communication, MBA, with annual intake of 996 students. At present the total number of students in the Institute is 3029.
Moradabad is known as Brass City of India. The annual exports of brass, aluminium and glassware products from Moradabad amount to about Rs. 3000 crores. Moradabad is situated on Nothern Railway main rail links (Howarh-Lucknow-Amritsar and Lucknow-Delhi) and 160 km East of Delhi on NH-24 and MIT is 5 km from Moradabad Railway Junction.
