Moyna college is at a distance of only 18km from Tamluk, the District Head quarters of Purba Medinipur, historically known as 'Tamralipta', the famous ancient Sea-Port town. Mechada Railway Station as well as Kolaghat Thermal Power Project (K.T.P.P.) is about at a distance of 24km. from the college. Moyna is located on the western bank of the river 'Kangsabati', with beautiful surroundings of green paddy field, trees and plants, plenty of air, well protected garden and a vast play ground in front of the College. These are sufficient enough to create an aesthetic sense and concentration among the learners. Moyna College is proud to be associated with the name of the place Moyna Garh which is historically famous as it was the fort and residence of 'Raja Lausen' of 'Dharma Mangal Kavya'. The dilapidated 'Rajbari' and the 'Parikha' (the protective ditch around the rampart) are still there as the marks of Royal tradition and heritage. Moyna is one of the most literate areas of West Bengal (Literacy about 90%).
