Twitter India will launch a new mentorship series on September 30, #AskTheMentor , as part of its ongoing digital campus programme which is focused on bringing #CampusLife alive life on Twitter. The mentorship series will give students a chance to interact in real time with mentors and leaders on Twitter, and to learn from the mentor’s life experiences.
The series starts on September 30 at 4 pm and the first mentor on the series is Venky Mysore, CEO, Red Chillies and Kolkata Knight Riders, who will answer questions from students across the country via Twitter’s Q&A video app. Students can Tweet their questions to @VenkyMysore using the hashtag #AskTheMentor.
Speaking on this initiative, Aneesh Madani, head of sports and education partnerships, Twitter India, says, “Twitter is live, public and conversational, and gives you direct access to leaders in society around the world. Students can follow them to learn from their career experiences every day. With this new series, students across India have the opportunity to interact with them in real time, get valuable direction for their careers and get access to life coaches with just a Tweet.”
As a part of its overall initiative to bring #CampusLife alive on Twitter, the social media platform is also partnering with top education institutes in the country. Through this programme, Twitter India aims to help onboard them on the platform, making their accounts more easily discoverable, aiding them in chronicling all the campus fun and important announcements in real-time, use videos to produce special interest-driven campus shows and more.
IIT-Bombay (@IITBombay) is the most followed undergrad college from India on Twitter and has used their Twitter account effectively to celebrate the success of its students with the launch of the Pratham satellite.
