The HRD Minister Smriti Irani in a tweet on the structure of Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds(SWAYAM) has unveiled an ambitious plan for a massive open online courses(MOCS) to increase the reach and quality of higher education.
About MOOCS
The massive open online courses (MOOCS)platform will aim to enhance the student's experience and it will provide information to the interesting applicants about the available courses. The registered students can access the course materials and can establish contacts with course coordinators for detailed information.
MOOCS: How it will help the students
The course will consist of mid-module assessments that will help the students to review their academic work which includes self-assessment. The successful course completer can apply for the next level of learning programme that will lead to qualification parallel to regular learning. The candidates can build a network with other learners to establish a workplace that will help them in their future profession.
Focus: Improvement of Higher Education
The HRD ministry shaped the e-learning programme to improve the quality and structure of higher education as the schools and colleges are unable to accommodate a growing number of applicants.
