The choice-based credit system (CBCS) from this academic session in Delhi University, is about to be crossed. There is a great discussion on CBCS structure and syllabi, over 90 courses will be tabled for approval at the academic council meeting on July 13.
The University Grants Commission's statement on the review meeting of central university vice-chancellors with HRD Ministry officials says, all of them have, "assured that their preparations are complete and that they will be starting CBCS this academic season."
As the Kirori Mal College staff association had pointed out, DU will be in a unique position of running three different programmes for three levels of undergraduate students in 2015-16. Those in the third year—the "FYUP batch"—will complete a three-year curriculum squeezed into two; second-year students in the semester system that DU reverted to when FYUP was rolled back, and the ones taking admission this year, will all get CBCS.
