Results for the civil service final examinations which was held in the year 2015 has been announced by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). It said that a total of 1,078 candidates, including 499 in the general category, 314 belonging to Other Backward Classes, 176 from Scheduled Castes and 89 from Scheduled Tribes, have been recommended for appointment to various Central government services namely IAS, IPS and IFS.
There are 172 other candidates in the waiting list. UPSC said in a statement that the appointment to the various services will be made according to the number of vacancies available with due consideration to the provisions contained in the rules for the examinations. Marks will be updated by the commission on the official website of the UPSC within 15 days of declaration of the results. The final rank list was prepared based on the candidate's performance in the written examination and interview.
A 22-year-old Delhi girl Tina Dabi has topped the exam in her first attempt by scoring the first rank in the highly-prestigious examination and has chosen to serve the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in Haryana cadre. She is a pass-out from Lady Shri Ram College. Railway officer Athar Aamir Ul Shafi Khan from Jammu and Kashmir has got second rank, the third rank has also been held by a Delhi resident — Jasmeet Singh Sandhu, an Indian Revenue Service officer.
