The Delhi Government today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Thuringia, a state in Germany, to collaborate on exchange of faculty and research in higher education.
The agreement was signed between Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Georg Maier, State Secretary, Federal Free State of Thuringia at Delhi Secretariat for increasing cooperation in higher education.
“The MoU has been signed recognising the need and benefits of increased co-operation and communication within the international community of universities, centres of higher education and research institutions and desiring to establish mutually beneficial relationship which will encourage such co-operation and communication,” read a statement on the MoU.
With this both the sides will facilitate exchange of faculty members, academic publications and information and development of collaborative research amongst the universities, centres of higher education, and research institutions in their states.
Maier observed that India is the fastest growing economy and needs skilled manpower, therefore, they are happy to co-operate with the government of Delhi in education sector. Sisodia also observed that co-operation will help in introduction of dual system of education in Delhi.
