Japanese universities welcome Indian students

As many as four ministry departments of Japan and Panjab University on Monday organised a seminar on the topic "Higher Education and Research in Japan - 2017" at the Punjab University. Various ministries from Japan include, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.

At the seminar were officials from the Japan's embassy, and two participating universities from Japan - Ritsumeikan University and The University of Japan.

Students attending the seminar and participants were enlightened about the accrue research opportunities available in the Island nation. Specifically, research opportunities are available at Japan's leading universities and several other companies.

The Director of the University of Tokyo India Office, Hiroshi Yoshino deliberate about the various research fields such as robotic, aerospace, high speed railways, Physics, Chemistry and also the positions available in these fields.

At the event, Daisue Kodama, First Secretary of Embassy of Japan in New Delhi, spoke of how Japan's universities are quite welcoming and friendly towards international students and shows extreme welcoming spirit especially to Indian diasporas.

Guidelines for post-graduate enrollment and research programmes in various disciplines were thoroughly laid down besides explaining the various government and local sponsored scholarships for the Indian diasporas.

While ensuring Japan as a safe country for foreign students, Director Ritsumeikan India Office, Shozo kitamura applauded the students and academic staff for ensuring successful event.
