Notre Dame in India goes back to October 31st 1949. Six Pioneer Sisters came from Cleveland, Ohlo, USA. On 2nd February 1952 the first Notre Dame Academy was started in Jamalpur,Munger. In 1956 then the Collector (Munger) Mr. B.S.Mukherji and his wife went to Jamalpur to request Sister Mary St. Thomas to open a Primary School in Munger. A house suitable for beginning the school was located in Fort Area. On 2nd February 1957 Notre Dame Academy, was opened with 63 students in Munger, under the guidance of Principal Sister Mary Freda the first Principal. In 1958 the school was shifted to the present campus. The number of admissions grew steadily The School was further upgraded and got affiliated to CBSE . In 2006 the first batch appeared Std X Board Exam.
