Based upon integrative science, this degree transcends the confining boundaries of traditional programs and emphasizes a systems approach. More specifically, an all hazards/all-threats orientation provides students with a generalist perspective which is critically important for today’s and tomorrow’s disaster managers. A culminating experience is expected which is a mentored applied project tying theory to practice.

The MA in Emergency Management and Homeland Security is a non-thesis degree program that focuses on practical application. It does not require a GRE for admission and can be completed in as little as one year, enabling students to enter the job market sooner.
