About Institution

St.Xavier’s College of Education is a B. Ed College run by the Society of Jesus for the future teachers of Chhattisgarh. It was established by the members popularly known as Jesuits in July, 2008 under the able leadership of the founding Director Rev Fr Jerome Minj, sj. Since then, the college is striving to produce efficient teachers, who are now shaping the future of India with a view to transform the educational scenario in Chhattisgarh where there is an acute shortage of trained and well qualified teachers..

The college is a self financed co-educational Christian Minority Educational institution. It is affiliated to Sarguja University Ambikapur in 2009. The college is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education. NCTE granted recognition to the college with a total intake of 100 students in 2009(Ref. Order No.WRC/5-6/116th2008/53516). Minority Status is accorded to this institution by Chhattisgarh Government Memo/Minority/151/09/2205 Raipur, dated 16.06.2010

Upholding human person as an image of God the St. Xavier’s College of Education Ambikapur strives for imparting quality education to all, especially the poor, leading to integral formation of persons, with their cultural heritage, permeated with a deep faith in God, becoming men and women for others, committed to establish a society wherein prevail truth, justice, freedom, love and peace.’
