Vidya Jyoti School is an educational institution under the management of CMI fathers of Nirmal Province of Jagdalpur of Carmelites of Mary Immaculate Society. It was established in the year 2000 and is situated in Jagdalpur town on the Geedam Road. It is easily accessible from allparts of the town and yet it is endowed with a calm, quite and peaceful atmosphere. It imparts instruction to students from Nursery to standard XII in the English medium with Hindi as second language.

The C.M.I congregation was founded in 1831 at Mannanam near Kottayam, Kerala and is the first and foremost among this indigenous religious congregations in India. Fr. Cyriac Elias Chavara of the order of sanctity gave a definite religious form to this community and was a man ahead of his times and laid the foundation for all modem and progressive fields of activities to which the congregation is committed at present. In the educatio-
nal field, the C.M.I. congregation conducts several colleges, schools, training and technical institutes.

The School has the motto "LIGHT, LOVE AND LIFE". There is an innate yearning in man to move "from darkness to light, from falsehood to truth and from mortality to eternal life". True knowledge will enable man to satisfy this innate aspiration. Our motto, "Light, Love and Life" co-relates the educational goodwill of this basic Indian aspiration. Hence, we aim at radiating the light of Christ into each student. The light of Christ is nothing but SELFLESS LOVE AND SERVICE.
