The girls' boarding school was officially opened as VITVA RATNA VILLA in 1895.Rev. Dr. L.R. Scudder was instrumental in constructing a building for the school and an Indian name "VITVA RATNA VILLA"- Home of the Ruby of Wisdom- was given to the school. It was a great occasion. The dedication ceremony was presided over by Rev. John Scudder Jr. in the presence of Rev. Dr. Jared Scudder and Dr. L.R.Scudder,who was the manager of the school. The school was opened mainly for the benefit of girl children hailing from Ranipet and surrounding villages. The children were taught from 1st Class to VIII Class and Children studying from 3rd to 8th class were looked after in the boarding school. In the following years the School developed
