Nursing contributes a major role in the health care delivery system; and its practice covers both hospitals; and urban and rural communities. It is a known fact that there is an acute shortage of nurses both in India and abroad; even though many institutions provides nursing education all over India.
In response to the needs of the society The "Zulekha Nursing College" was started in the year 2006-2007 academic year, under the able guidance and dynamic leadership of Mr.Y.Abudulla Kunhi, Chairman, Yenepoya Instiute of Medical Sciences & Research Pvt. Ltd., with an aim to prepare the nursing professionals to meet the social health needs of the community; with quality competence, commitment, dedication and human touch. Our endeavor is to make the graduate nurse self-reliant in their profession, which enables their all-round development, growth and prosperity. Also, the college has started M.Sc. Nursing programme in the year 2012-13 to equip the nurses to hold the responsibilities in the field of nursing administration, nursing education & nursing research.
The overall goal of the college is to Expose Young minds to the world of nursing profession, by instilling in them the confidence and fortitude to face new challenges and enabling them to shine in their chosen field.
The college is located at Zulekha Complex, Bibi Alabi Road, Mangalore-575 001. The college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore and Recognized by Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi and Karnataka Nursing Council, Bangalore.
